UNICEF is today launching the Humanitarian Airfreight Initiative. Under this landmark initiative, over 10 leading airlines^[1] are signing agreements with UNICEF to support the prioritisation of delivery of COVID-19 vaccines, essential medicines, medical devices and other critical supplies to respond to the pandemic.

Global air freight demand last year registered its steepest decline in demand since the International Air Transport Association (IATA) started to monitor cargo performance in 1990, the industry group reported Wednesday.
